The name of the album was inspired by Merve's personal journey with music and with medicine. It can sometimes feel like you're the only one who understands yourself properly, and in those cases sometimes the best thing to do is make your own rules. Merve consciously chose to dive back into music as a meditative form of expression, and the album title is a small nod to self-medicating with groovy tunes.

Doctor's Orders is the debut album from Merve, an Ontario-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
